Biography

Professor Nherera is currently a full-time Professor in the Department of Technical Education at the University of Zimbabwe. He was the Founding Vice Chancellor of the Chinhoyi University of Technology and former Pro Vice Chancellor of the Women’s University in Africa. He has held several senior positions in both the academic and corporate sectors, such as:

  • Director, Human Resources Research Centre (HRRC) and Editor-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Journal of Educational Research (ZJER) concurrently at the University of Zimbabwe;
  • Chairman of the Awards Committee of the Research Council of Zimbabwe (RCZ) International Research Symposium; (Still serving as a Committee Member)
  • Board Member, Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC);
  • Council Member, University of Venda, South Africa; (3 years up to October 2017);
  • Chairman, Zimbabwe United Passenger Company Board of Directors;
  • Commission Chairman / Acting Mayor, Kariba Municipality;
  • Member of the Board of Governors of the Zimbabwe Institute for Public Administration and Management (ZIPAM); (Current)
  • Member of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) International Peer Review College. (Current)
