The Philippine Normal University (PNU) is a public research university in Manila, Philippines established during the early days of American colonial rule. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9647, it is now funded and operated as a National Center for Teacher Education in the country.

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is a public university. It is the oldest and biggest public university in Tanzania established on 1st July 1970, through parliament Act no. 12 of 1970. Prior to 1970, the university college, Dar es Salaam had started on 1st July 1961 as an affiliate college of the University of London.

The University of Duhok is a governmental institution in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It was founded in 1992 to cater for the HE needs of the Kurdish youth. Currently, the university has 18 colleges, 17 training, consulting and research centers. The student population in the University of Duhok currently stands at 18,000 students.

Established in 2005, with a student population of over 50,000 students (of which more than 3000 are international students from 80 countries), it is one of the largest contact universities in South Africa (SA) from the 26 public universities that make up the higher education system. It Is ranked 7th amongst Africa’s Universities, 5th in South Africa, and ranked within the top 2.3% of universities in the world (QS World University Rankings, 2017/18).

University of Kurdistan as the main state university in Province of Kurdistan operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology which provide guidelines for universities and higher education institutions both public and private institutions to practice the country's policy for higher education.

The University of Zimbabwe was established in 1955 through a Royal Charter as the University College of London.  It is the oldest institution of higher education in the country.
